Hazardous waste

Universal waste

A regulated category for commonly generated items such as batteries, certain lamps, mercury-containing equipment, and some aerosol cans that may follow streamlined handling rules.

Universal-waste rules still require intact containers, clear identification, accumulation controls, and delivery to an appropriate handler or destination.
