Cooking Oil Recycling with Dimension

Our client, a Southern California food manufacturer faced a challenge in managing the disposal of mixed cooking oil. During the manufacturing process, ingredients often get mixed, resulting in mixed oil waste. The company required a reliable and environmentally responsible solution to handle this waste oil effectively.

Challenge

The challenge was finding a disposal method that ensures the mixed cooking oil was not reutilized for cooking and the proper disposal of their mixed oil. The improper disposal could lead to severe environmental impact and legal repercussions. The company needed a solution that was cost-effective, capable of accommodating their needs and ensuring the cleanest solution.

The cooking oil was mixed with different ingredients, such as sauces, water or additives. The oil was taken to a cooking oil reclamation facility, where it is determined its recyclability. For the portion that was determined viable, it will be used as input for the production of biodiesel , while the other portions would be properly disposed of, ensuring minimum environmental impact.
