The planned removal, disconnection, sorting, transport, reuse, resale, and recycling or disposal of a solar-energy system at the end of its service life.

A decommissioning plan should account for panels, inverters, racking, wiring, batteries, roof access, electrical isolation, and the customer's preferred recovery outcome.
